The Main Street

St. Patrick’s street in Cork city is a bustling hub of shopping. Here you can find everything you require, from books to music, art supplies, homeware and the latest fashion. Large retail stores are located here, such as Brown Thomas, Marks & Spencers and Flannels. The street is located at the heart of the city, and many of the other streets listed below are interlinked with the main thoroughfare.

Opera Lane

Opera Lane is the newest addition to Cork’s shopping scene. This street is filled with high street stores, including River Island, H&M, Office and New Look. If you crave a coffee while shopping, you can also pop into Starbucks for a caffeine hit. This street is one of the most popular with those looking for shopping breaks, Cork.

Oliver Plunkett Street

This pedestrianised street won The Great Street Award in 2016, and it’s clear to see why. The long thoroughfare is thriving with buskers, shops, intimate cafes and historic buildings. Second hand book shops line the streets, and vintage stores make the perfect place to find a unique outfit.

Corn Market Street

If you prefer shopping under the open sky, this is the street for you. Corn Market Street hosts an outdoor market each Saturday. The assorted stalls sell everything from clothes to toys to homeware, and even musical instruments. It’s also close to the Hugenot Quarter, which is a vibrant collection of cafes and restaurants.

Merchant’s Quay Shopping Centre

Located on the main street of Cork city, this shopping centre is ideal for a rainy day. The two storey facility includes a mix of food, fashion and homeware stores.
